Although the sun did not shine on Lion’s Day this year, lots of people came along to enjoy the afternoon. Residents of Pudding Cake Lane set out their tables and chairs to enjoy a fantastic-looking picnic, entertained by Rick Bonner playing his saxophone and singing many popular songs. The stars of the afternoon were the birds of prey who decided that flying around Luxford field and the car park dodging the irate seagulls was much more fun than the normal lure-catching they were expected to do. The tea tent and bar-b-que proved popular as did the ‘Make a Crown’ table and Lions’ book stall. Various stalls and a car boot fair filled the rest of the field. At the end of the afternoon the children watched Jimmy the Jester perform his circus tricks and also joined in with his circus school. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Uckfield Lions!
