Continuing with Uckfield Lions ethos of helping all members of the local community, Lions are very pleased to be able to donate £500 to Uckfield Rainbows for start-up costs for a second unit. The 1st Rainbow group in Uckfield has a waiting list of two years, meaning that many of the girls go straight into Brownies rather than starting their journey in guiding in Rainbows. One of the Brownie /Guide leaders has taken on the challenge of opening a Second rainbow unit on a Thursday 4.30-5.30pm ,girls on the waiting list for 1st rainbows and girls that would have gone straight into brownies have been offered places, and the unit will have a full complement right the start .The Rainbow leader Lynda Russell is starting with a parent rota to help ,but would love to hear from anyone who would like to become a Rainbow/Brownie or Guide leader ,or helpers would be welcome ,the children are aged from 5 to 7 years old and need help with crafts and other activities the children do .For further information on how you can help please contact Lynda on 07718787535 ,or you can visit the Guide hut in Hempstead Lane once the new term starts in September .
