Continuing with Uckfield Lions ethos of helping all members of the local community, Lions are very pleased to be able to donate £500 to Uckfield Rainbows for start-up costs for a second unit. The 1st Rainbow group in Uckfield has a waiting list of two years, meaning that many of the girls go straight into Brownies rather than starting their journey in guiding in Rainbows. One of the Brownie /Guide leaders has taken on the challenge of opening a Second rainbow unit on a Thursday 4.30-5.30pm
Service Chairman Graham Baldwin recently attend one of Second Rainbows to present them with a cheque for £500 which has enabled the unit to start up . Also at this time Mr David Eggington from the Men’s shed brought along the new rainbow for the unit ,the rainbow is what the girls pass through from being a rainbow to a brownie .
