At the recent volunteers fayre in the Civic centre Uckfield and District lions club stand was visited by Wealden’s MP Nus Ghani ,MS Ghani listen with interested to all the work Uckfield lions do for the benefit of the local community. One particular aspect was Message in the bottle.
Message in a bottle is a small plastic bottle with Green label and white cross on the outside of the bottle, inside the bottle is a easy to follow form that people can put their personal detail’s on , along with aliments and medications .This form is then placed inside the bottle and the bottle is placed in the fridge . Along with the form is a green and white sticker ,the sticker is then stuck to the front door or front door window .Should the emergency services have to attend a property with the sticker on the front they will automatically go to the fridge should a person be incapacitated and easily be able to get full medical details .Message in the bottle are widely available in and around Uckfield, Doctors surgery and Chemists have them ,also available from Uckfield Lions bookshop in Olives yard. This project is a country wide project for Lions
Ms Ghani was so impressed with message in bottle that she has asked Uckfield lions to supply her with a quantity for office where she holds her surgery.
