Uckfield Lions operate the Bookshop to help to raise funds towards the Lions work in and around the Uckfield area. It is conveniently located in Uckfield town centre just off the High Street in Olives Yard. This is the small road opposite NatWest bank next to TN22 furniture shop. Look out for the signs on the right. The Bookshop is open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday to Saturdays.

Covid precautions are in place with only two people allowed in the shop at one time & payments are by card or the correct cash. No change will be given. A traffic light entry system is operating at the shop. The NHS QR Test & Trace code is displayed in the window.

We are now able to take both bulk and small donations. Donations can be delivered directly to the shop by car as there is parking space available to unload. Larger donations or collections can be arranged by contacting treasurer@uckfield-lions.org.uk. Your email should include roughly how many books you wish to donate, along with your address and postcode. We will then be in touch to discuss a date and time for collection.

Donations of books, jigsaws and talking books all welcome

Our stock includes fiction, non-fiction, biographies, books for children and a number on specialty subjects. There is also a selection of talking books and jigsaws. Most books are priced at £1.20 unless marked differently. Jigsaws are priced at £2.50 for five hundred pieces and £3.50 for one thousand pieces with books for children at fifty pence. Books are sorted into categories and include paper back and hard back novels. The main categories are General Fiction, Suspense/Crime, Historical Novels, Biographies, and books for children. We also stock a range of books on specialty subjects such as military, travel, history and cookery.

Lions Bookshop vouchers at £5 each are available as ideal gifts for birthdays or Christmas.

We regret that we are unable to accept video tapes, music cassettes, magazines or DVDs & CDs.

Uckfield Lions opened their bookshop in April 2011. Since that date the money raised through the shop has increased month on month. All money raised over & above direct operating costs, is donated to good causes, mostly local. See the link to the How We Spend Your Money page on the home page. The shop is staffed entirely by volunteers, both Lion Members & non-Lion helpers.
