At the beginning of July I was delighted to become Uckfield & District Lions Club President for a second time. Uckfield Lions has been providing help to the local community for over 55 years in many different forms.
But times and the needs of the community have changed, and in the last financial Lions year we have supported the Uckfield Food Bank several times with donations. The Lions mini bus has been used many times for the benefit of the local community groups and we had record numbers for Prostate Cancer screening and diabetes testing, to name but a few.
My role as President this year will be to continue to support my fellow members in providing help and assisting our local community in the many different ways that we do at the present, helping to support the Lions clubs in our zone with the work they do in supporting Kent Sussex Surrey Air Ambulance which is a very important service for us all.
Uckfield Lions will also continue to support the Lions International Blood Research Appeal – LIBRA – which is saving countless lives and the Lions International Disasters Fund.
