As my presidency begins, our club members are planning the events for the coming year, which include the Easter Egg Raffle, the Bluebell Walk, the Lions Fun Day, Bonfire Society Carnival, Local Fetes and Santa’s Sleigh – to name some.

All of these raise Funds which are used to benefit our Community, including help and events for Senior Citizens, our Schoolchildren and many others. As President it is my function to lead our club through the year to ensure we reach as many people as possible, encourage new membership and that our members are achieving everything they want from being part of Lions.

Other causes we support are Kings College Hospital, where we provide funds and equipment for research and treatment of blood disorders such as leukaemia and sickle cell disease through our Lions International Blood Research Appeal – LIBRA – saving countless lives. We also have a strong relationship with the Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and help with funding for vital equipment for their lifesaving service.

Lions help in so many ways it is impossible to cover them in a short page but the personal satisfaction you can achieve through taking part is immeasurable.

In addition to local needs, we support worldwide causes including Diabetes, Vison, Hunger, Environment ,Children’s Cancer and International disasters, which are helped through our parent organisation, Lions Clubs International.

Of course, we cannot do anything without members and supporters, so If you would like to consider joining us please use our contact us page or call Lion David on 01323 767656, or you could call into our second hand bookshop in Olives Yard.

Please take time to browse through the pages of our website. This illustrates the many activities in which Uckfield and District Lions Club are involved throughout the year and further details can also be found on our Facebook page.
