Uckfield and District Lions club would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and also say a big thank you.
Firstly to Specsavers Uckfield for their sponsorship of the refurbishment of the sleigh, Green’s DIY for the donation of the plywood used for the cut-out characters on the sleigh,Foxdown construction for storing Santa’s safely for another year. Jackie and Glenn Butler for the actual decorations on the sleigh.
Secondly thank you to Santa and his Elves for taking the sleigh round Uckfield ,this year in extremely challenging conditions ,two nights we had temperatures of minus 6 and a week of very slippery conditions ,then wind and rain ,followed by the last three nights of about 10 degrees .
Thirdly thank you to the people of Uckfield and surrounding areas ,you came out and supported us what ever the weather and donated a fantastic figure of £5600 a record year, total monies raised for local good causes in the life of the sleigh has now reached £83000 Thank you .
So now Santa and his Elves are resting ,but still planning ,so please keep an eye out for information on Prostrate cancer screening and Diabetes testing in early spring ,information will be available on this web site ,Lions Facebook page and Ashdown radio.
